Sir now I am in 6th semister of BE Civil Engineering and I want to join Indian Army. But I don't know the procedure for it, please sir tell me about it. I will be grateful to you. Thank you sir

Being a student of sixth semester of engineering degree to join Indian army as a commissioned you will have to wait for one year so that you can enter in the final year of your degree course.

--> Further you will be have to qualify for CDS entrance examination for which the necessary requirements for joining Indian Army ( Indian Military Academy ) are as given below :-

* You must have the nationality of India.

* Your age must lie within 19 years to 24 years.

* You must have either completed your bachelor degree course or must be in the final year of same in any discipline from a recognized university.

* You must satisfy the physical requirement norms as specified in the notification released for the same examination.

--> For your knowledge, I would like to make you know that CDS entrance examination are held twice every year in two stages which includes Written test and SSB ( Service Selection Board ) interview respectively.

After completion of your civil engineering, You can get technical or non-technical entry in Indian Army. For engineering candidates, There are special entries in Indian Army.

Technical Entries

TGC Entry
- Only engineering male candidates are eligible.
- Your age should be between 21-26 years.

Selection : Based on engineering percentage & performance in interview. No written test ia conducted.

Training : 1 year in Indian Military Academy (IMA)

SSC Technical Entry
- It is very similar to TGC entry.
- Male & Female engineering candidates are eligible.
- Your age should be between 21-26 years.

Selection : Selection will be done based on engineering percentage & performance in interview.

Training : 1 Year In Officer Training Academy (OTA)

Non-Technical Entries

CDS
- You must have bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Your age should be between 19-24 years.
- You must be physically fit.

NCC Entry
- Candidates who have engineering degree with NCC 'C' certificate can apply for this entry.

Territorial Entry
Engineering candidates who are fully employed are eligible to apply for this entry.

If you wish to join Indian army after completing your graduation in Civil engineering, then you can appear for CDS exam that is conducted by UPSC every year.

CDS or Combined Defence Services is conducted for entry to Indian Army, Navy, Air force.

You must meet following criteria to be eligible for CDS Exam:

• You should have attained the age of 19 years and must have not attained the age of 23 years
• You must have Bachelor's degree from any recognized Institution.
• Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this examination.

To join Indian Army after completion of your B.E Civil Engineering, you should have to apply for Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination. The CDS examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year and the eligibility criteria required to appear in CDS examination (Indian Army) is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must have completed Graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university.

3. You should be within the age of 19-24 years.

4. You should be an Unmarried Male candidate.

5. You must be Physically fit as per physical standards mentioned in the UPSC CDS examination notification .

After qualifying the CDS written examination, you need to participate in further rounds like Document Verification, Medical Test, etc., and if you perform well in all the rounds of the selection process, you will be selected into Indian Army through CDS examination.

Indian Army offers a lucrative career to aspirants who have done bachelor's degree. In recent years, engineers have been attracted towards Indian Army. Second advantage of joining Army is to serve your nation.

Bachelor of Engineering candidates can enter into Indian Army through Combined Defence Services exam. CDS is conducted at undergraduate level by UPSC. You must meet following eligibility criteria:

#For Army, age limit is 19-24 years.

#UPSC has mentioned that only unmarried male and female candidates can apply.

#You must be an Indian citizen.

You can apply for this exam at http://www.upsc.gov.in.

Second opportunity for your is through the University Entry Scheme.

After completion of your bachelor degree you can appear for CDS examination conducted by UPSC twice every year.

The examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates in defence services. The eligibility to appear for recruitment in Indian Army is candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline and age limit is 19-24 years.

The best option to join Indian Army after B.E is through CDS entry.
