Hello.....Since you are completely changing your field from ECE to mechanical,i feel that is because you want to join merchant navy and that is right because it has a lot of shortage of manpower+they have attractive pay packages.you can take admission in marine engineering only on the basis of 10+2.Following colleges are really good for it-
1.Samundra institute of maritime studies
2.Tolani maritime institute and
3.Vishwakarma maritime institute.
Forms are out.apply as early as possible.

The minimum eligibility to get admission in Marine Engineering

1:you should pass 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

2:After that you have to pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms also

3:you should have the eyesight of 6/6 with no color blindness.

sir, i am going to complete my b.tech elecronics & communication engineering (ece) in 2012 ........ i am very eagerly waiting hoe to join in maraine engineering......if threre are any cources to do that.......

i heard that there is 1 year course for non-marine engineering students .After 1 year thaey will be placed in 4th engineer is it wright or wrong?????????

some of them are saying that ece students are not eligible for that is it wright ??????????

I am sorry to inform you that after passing diploma in electrical engineering you are not eligible for Marine engineering course.

If you want to do this course then you have to pass diploma in Marine engineering course.

If you want you can do Electrical Engineering.

For admission in top college you have to qualify the entrance exam like:-
> I.I.T-J.E.E
> A.I.E.E.E
> B.I.T.S.A.T
> S.R.M.E.E.E
etc
