I am student of B-tech,and want my career in Indian Air Force. so what I have to do for this?
As I have no knowledge about this, so whats its elegibility criteria? and what are the different career for girls in this field?

To make a career in Indian Air Force a B.Tech. Graduate has to apply, appear and crack CDS and AFCAT entrance exam.

CDA - Combined Defence Service, the entrance exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year as CDS-I and CDS-II to join Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy.

To be eligible to join Indian Air Force of CDS, one must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the final Graduation degree/B.Tech. with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject of studies from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 23 years with good Physical and Mental health.

AFCAT - Air Force common Admission Test conducted by Air Force for selection of officer in Flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Graduation with 60% marks from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 23 years for Flying Branch, 18 to 28 years for Technical Branch and 20 to 23 years for Ground Duty Branch.

The selection is through written exam followed by personal Interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test for both CDS and AFCAT exam.

First of Hats Off to your Choice Of further carrier in Air Force......

As you have mention that you are studying in Engineering stream i.e B.Tech then you definatly can join Indian Air Force......

>> You have to apply for the AFCAT Entrance exam conducted for joining Indian Air force in Engineering Sector.....

For That

>> A candidate must have completed their Graduation degree in Engineering Stream with at least 60& from Recognized Universities......

OR

>> A candidate should be a final year of Graduation......

Age Limit:

Age of candidate should be between 21 to 30 years, There is Age relaxation is available for Reserved category student on upper age.......

Exam Procedure:

1. Written Exam
2. Personal Interview & Physical Test

Physical Requirement:

>> Chest should be well developed having minimum 5 Cms expansion.

>> He should be able to read 6/6 in distant vision chart with each eye.

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test.

AFCAT is an Entrance test conducted for Selection of candidates in defence sector various branch of Indian Air force(Flying, ground, Technical).

Flying Branch:-If you have completed BE/B.Tech degree then you are applicable for flying branch exam.Your 12th standard subject must be physics and Mathematics .

Age = 19 to 23 years .

Technical Branch:-If you have completed BE/B.Tech in Aeronautical engineering so you are applicable for Technical Branch exam.

Age = 18 to 28 years .

Ground Duty Branch:-If you have completed in PG Degree/Bachelor Degree in any subjects then you are applicable for Ground Duty Branches .

Age = 19 to 27 years .

Yes , B-Tech student are applicable for AFCAT Exam .There is no specific criteria for Girls .You can apply in Indian Air Force through AFCAT Exam

Syllabus for AFCAT Exam :-

(a) General Awareness– History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

(b) Verbal Ability in English– Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

(c) Numerical Ability– Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test– Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability

Yeah yes you are eligibl for Indian AirForce after b.tech through Combined Defence Service exam, which is conducted by the UPSC two times in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-
For India AirForce and Indian Naval academy:-

The candidate should be complete graduation in engineering from a recognised university.

Age limits:

For Indian Naval academy 19 years to 22 years,

For Indian AirForce academy 19 years to 23 years.


For Indian Officer Training Academy and Indian Military academy:

The candidate should be complete bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

Age limits:

For Indian Military academy the age limits are 19 years to 24 years,

For Officers Training Academy the age limits are 19 years to 25 years.

And

Applicant must be a citizen of India.

The candidate should be physically fit.

Male and Female both are eligible for this exam.

Percentage is not important to appear this exam.

As you have done B.Tech, so you can appear for CDS and AFCAT Exam to join Air Force.

CDS EXAM

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Examination.

The examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice in a year.

Upcoming Exam will be conducted on 8 September 2013.

Online Applications are over for CDS Exam.

As you are girl, so you can apply for Officer Training Academy Examination (OTA) under CDS.

You should have attained the age of 19 years and must have not attained the age of 25 years.

For General Candidate, minimum required percentage in Graduation Course is 60%.

However, for reserved category candidates it is 55%.

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test.

AFCAT Exam is conducted for recruitment of candidates in various branches of Indian Air Force like Flying, Ground and Technical.
