Firstly I want to mention that there is no specific number of vacancy every year for drug inspector in Punjab. It varies from year to year. There are many factors on deciding the number of drug inspector vacancies every year. For example, how many people are retiring, number of new recruitment required etc. Bottom line is, it is impossible to tell a specific number of amount in vacancies.


Now coming to the Drug Inspector, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1945 has given various powers to the drug inspector in regard to carry out checks for the safety of general public in India. The drug inspector is recuited by both central government and the state government.


Union Public Service Commission is given the responsibility to conduct the drug inspector exam for the central government while state PSU conducts exam in each state separately.


The job of drug inspector is to visit establishment where drug drugs, cosmetics are either stored or manufactured by the companies and dealers. He would evaluate the sanitation, purity and grading standards of the place and ensure that the rules of central government are being followed.

In order to become drug inspector it is necessary to appear in entrance exam. To do so you would have to check the leading job websites and employment dailies to see the dates of drug inspector exam in the state of Punjab.


Eligibility

>> Candidate must be citizen of India.

>> You should have graduation degree in Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine from a recognised university in India.

Age Limit

>> Age Limit for Drug Inspector exam is 21 to 33 years.

>> The age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates.

>> For SC/ST candidate, the age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
