The entrance examination for recruitment of Sub-Inspector, in state police, is conducted either by the police recruitment board or by the public service commission of the respective states.

As far as eligibility criteria is concerned, a graduate in any discipline is eligible to write the exam, irrespective of the marks secured in the bachelors degree examination.
