hi, my name is rahul i am first year engg. student IT
thinking to start preparation for GATE exam
i need some guide lines please help me

You need to have a good study plan for GATE preparation. The entrance exam will check the fundamentals of the candidates. You should be thorough in your fundamental concepts in IT. It will be better if you give more care and time for studying the difficult portions. You should manage time effectively. You can join any coaching classes near your place if you find difficulty in studying alone.

GATE ( Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering ) - is the exam for the Masters programs in different colleges all over India.

It also uses its score, for jobs in various PSU's all over the country.

So, if you doing B Tech IT, and you want to prepare for GATE, then start working harder.

GATE is not easy, and competition is tough,

Take a coaching from a good institute or subscribe to their mailing postal service. Buy some good books and last years samples papers.

Practice, make your concepts clear, and increase your memory power.

It is an entrance exam for M.tech course..

To crack GATE exam you must be good in technical field..

So, study throughly technical subjects to clear all your doubts..

Solve sample questions to get confidence..

You can also prefer some reference books to gather more knowledge.

Beside this you have to be good in aptitude questions..

As there is a section for aptitude questions..

So, practice aptitude questions as much as possible...

You have to do hard work and must be determine to crack the GATE exam..

One more idea for you if you just wanna qualify in gate then just read any 4 subjects which i have mentioned above .

GATE scores are valid for 2 years. One may reappear in the exam if one is not satisfied with the score and the new score, if it is better than the old one, will be used for admission purpose.

The examination is of three hours duration and consists of a single paper. The paper is divided in two sections. The first section is objective type and caries 75 marks. The second section is problem type and also carries 75 marks. So the total is 150 marks.It may be any stream .

At first I want to tell you that please maintain the following guidelines provided here . These are given below :

1. Maintain a time table
2. Work hard
3. Don't leave any chapter
4. Study all these chapter very well

GATE is the exam that check your Fundamental knowledge.

->> The syllabus prescribed in GATE covers mainly upto 5th semester.

->> You are just entering in engineering course field. So its good for you to concentrate on your engg. branch subjects & study deeply upto 5th semester.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones such that One Indian Institute of Science(IISc),Bangalore and the Seven IITs(Bombay,Kharagpur,Kanpur,Guahati,Roorkee,Madra s,Delhi)

The most important news in GATE-2012 is that Pre-final year student ca not appear in GATE 2012 exam.

According to the Eligibility of the GATE:

1:You should have a Bachelor's degree holder in Engineering or Technology or Architecture or Pharmacy of 4 years after 10+2.

2:You can also apply if you are in the final year examination of the Bachelor Degree.
or
3:You have to be a Master degree holders in any branch of Science like Physics,Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications etc....

4:You can also apply if you are in the final year examination of the Master Degree.

In this year 2012,the GATE 2012 is organized by Indian Institute of Technology,Delhi

1. Last date for Submission of Online Application (website closure at 23:00 Hrs): 21 October 2011 (Friday).

2. Last date for the receipt of printed version of ONLINE Application at the respective zonal GATE Office: 28 October 2011 (Friday)


Date of Online Examination: 29-01-2012 (Sunday)

Date of Offline Examination: 12-02-2012 (Sunday)

1:According to me,maintain a time table to allow yourself to devote minimum 6-8hrs per day for the GATE.
