Knowledge in diverse areas is needed to qualify IAS exam. You have to prepare on areas of Indian History, Indian Polity, general science, etc. Prelims exam also comprises questions on comprehension, general mental ability, etc. Reference books as well as news dailies can be used for clearing these papers. For mains paper you have to be competent in optional subject selected. Approaching Coaching centers is also good. They offer training and guidance for IAS aspirants.

Books used most often by IAS aspirants is "Book for IAS Prelims (CSAT)"
IAS aspirants can select optionals in main exam according to their convinience.Mostly selected optionals are listed below: Hindi Litt. Pali Litt. Tamil Litt. Geography History Philosophy Pol. Science Psychology Pub. Admn. Sociology Zoology As a medicine practitioner u can select Zoology or psychology or what ever u want. All the best. |
