Preparation of IAS exam:

• Be very particular about the subject you choose for prelims, as you will be appearing for an objective type of paper. History, maths, geography may prove to be very scoring. Choose subjects which have availability of books, reading material and guidance. In recent years engineering subjects like civil and electrical can be chosen, giving BEs and IITians an edge .
• G.K. will definitely pay in your prelims. Reading newspapers, watching TV news and of course quiz shows like KBC,quiz contest is a must.

->first getting full details of Examination and Pattern..

->Mentally Deciding that to limit all my habits like

->Chatting
->movies
->Girl Friends
->TV
->All the things which will distract from my studies..

->Collecting all the required materials.

->starting preparation before 4 months

->2 months for total studies.

->per day 13 hours studies.

->1 month for revision.

->last month for practicing different papers..

this is my style of preparation..

Preparation for the IAS exam was never so easy.
It requires complete hard work with determination.
First of all in the preparation of the IAS exam , general awareness is quite important .
Reading newspapers will help you a lot in increasing your general knowledge as it makes you aware about the happenings of the world.
Apart from that you should subscribe for various educative magazines that will guide you to perfection.
Also , you should limit your habits of sitting before the T.V. , Internet for long hours as that will affect your studies.
Your knowledge about the past i.e. history is quite important as many of the questions are from that sector too.

you should prepare for IAS exam very seriously
there will to written test and an interview.
you have to write so many mock tests and should be confident in front of others
in interview you have to concentrate more. practice as much possible mock interviews.
increase your knowledge in Indian history,GK,recent issues etc.
read different newspapers everyday.
