I did participate in Group Discussion and Interview as a part of PO recruitment process conducted by ICICI.

Initially you need to get through Written Exam and Psychometric profiling test. Hope you have cleared these two rounds.

Then the 3rd round of selection process is Group Discussion. Group Discussion will be conducted among 10-12 candidates. All the people would be given a situation with 2-3 papers. You will be given 5 minutes of time to go through it and understand it.

Once the specified time is completed, you will be asked to share what you will do if you are in that situation and how best you can do. You need to explain your views and ideas. In this way, they will test your though process.

1 sample situation is- There will be many departments in a college like academics, sports, training and development etc. The current situation of all the departments in the college would be mentioned like how it is running. Given a specific budget amount, how will you distribute among these departments. For which department you will allocate more budget and why? You need to explain how much percentage of budget you are allocating to a department and why? Hope you are clear with my example.

Once you get through Group Discussion, you need to attend a face to face Interview. Not much subject related questions will be asked in the Interview.

-Why should I hire you?

They will mainly test your communication skills - How well you are able to communicate. Because even after joining in job also, you should be good enough in communication to interact with customers.

To be good enough in communication, I suggest you to speak in English only with your friends, family members and other known persons.

Imagine a situation and discuss it with your friends. Take the feedback and overcome the areas where you are not strong. You will definitely get a job.
