For placement you have to improve your communication skills, personality (Formal), practice apptitude question of RS Agrawal, GRE Barrons wordlist, go through company profile, prepare couple of core subjects very strong in basics.

Also prepare for GD as it is also a part of recruitment process in many companies.

preparation for placement interviews involves preparation of two sections
1)technical
2)general aptitude

for technical decide any two as your favorite subjects which u shall be writing in your resume and prepare them thoroughly because the interviewee will ask the questions from your favorite subjects as mentioned by you.

General aptitude preparation involves two sections
1)verbal analysis
2)quantitative aptitude

for the practice in above sections refer the following books
1)quantitative aptitude by R.S AGGARWAL
2)verbal and non verbal by R.S AGGARWAL

Most of the companies generally conduct written test first evaluating only the general aptitude and then later on conduct the technical and HR interviews.

Interviewees generally ask the questions on the basis of your resume so make sure that whatever you have mentioned in your resume you should be aware of that. Mentioning anything falsely will only lead you in a trap. So avoid it.

in order to prepare for placements you need to prepare two sections:

for general aptitude preparation you need two prepare two sections. So refer the following books

For technical preparation decide two core subjects of your stream as your favorite subjects and prepare them thoroughly. Please take care while mentioning your favorite subjects in your resume as the interviewee wull ask the questions from the subjects mentioned in the resume only.

Generally the first round of placements is written aptitude test and later on technical and HR interviews are conducted. Some companies also conduct GDs as well.

to prepare for placements you need to prepare for both technical and general aptitude.
there are many companies like infosys who conduct written test only in general aptitude and later on the HR interviews for final selection.

But mostly other companies have their written test involving both the technical and general aptitude.
After clearing the written test student hat to appear for various rounds of interviews involving both HR and technical and sometimes the GDs too.

For general aptitude preparation you may refer the following books:

2)verbal and non verbal analysis by R.S AGGARWAL

Hey Friend,,,,,,First of all I don't think that there is any special type of course which a boy can do and a girl cannot and vice versa.Any of the course can be opted by a girl and a boy as well but as per their interest. IF you are a creative person ,then you can choose fashion designing or interior designing.And if you want to be a serious type of intello worker ,then you can choose courses like CA,CS, MBA after GRADUATION and BANK EXAMINATION after GRADUATION. And if you are a science student then can do engineering .
Also now a days girls can go in ARMY,NAVY as well ,that is all up to your choice.

to prepare for placement test of B.tech, you should start practicing aptitude questions. company mainly first takes aptitude test then technical and HR interview.

for technical, you will have to revise your branch's some important subjects. mainly company asks basic fundamental questions. so concentrate on basics only.
