Re: How to start preparation for CPT December?
Common Proficiency Test is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy course. A candidate can register for the CPT exam after completing 10th and you can give this exam after 10+2 from a recognized board.
Before preparing for the exam, you must see the paper pattern of this test: CPT is an objective test and consisting of 200 multiple choice questions. It covers four basic subjects divided into two sections: >>Accounting: 60 marks. >>Mercantile law: 40 marks. >>Economics: 50 marks. >>Quantitative Aptitude: 50 marks. Every incorrect answer carries 0.25 negative marks. In order to clear the test, a candidate is required to secure a minimum of 30% marks in each section. and aggregate of 50% to clear the CPT. Preparation Strategy: Clearing CPT is not a big task. You need to focus on the four subjects mentioned above and practice a lot on objective type questions. If you are from commerce stream then it would be more easy to crack CPT in first attempt also. Accounting and Economics are important subjects for commerce stream candidates. So study economics, accounting and mercantile law in depth so that you can solve objective questions easily. You can refer to R.S Aggarwal for quantitative aptitude questions. Practice questions as much as possible. The important dates for CPT exam for December is not yet declared. You can visit the official website of ICAI for any more details www.icai.org. |
