For the CPT level the candidate needs to have registered at least 60 days before the exam. So for the June exam you need to register before April. It is a must to register before October for the December exam. So if you plan to appear for the next exam do register immediately. You should apply for the same only if you have completed your 12th standard.

sir , me Mohammad Umar Farooq, applied for cpt december 2011 attempt in month of may 2011 but not yet recieved my registration letter.

SSir actually due to some personal problems I was not able to apply for cpt Dec by 30th Sep. Is there any chance for me to apply further. Pls inform me through "[email protected]". Waits for ur answer.

Dear friend,

Those candidate who have passed Common Proficiency Test and Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination) conducted by an examination body constituted by law in India
or
an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto and passed CPT may join the Professional Competence Course.

These exams are conducted twice every year generally on the first Sunday of the months of June and December.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts a student can make at the CA CPT examination.

CA CPT Syllabus 2012:-

No. of papers:- One

Duration:- Four years

Marks:- 200

Two Sections - Two hours - 100 Marks

Section A:- Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 Marks )
Section B: Mercantile Law ( 40 Marks )
Section C: General Economics ( 50 Marks )
Section D: Quantitative Aptitude ( 50 Marks )

EXAM DATE:-

June Examination:-

June 6th, 2010; June 5th, 2011; June 3rd, 2012.

December Examination:-

December 5th, 2010; December 4th, 2011; December 2nd, 2012

Hello friend,

Common Proficiency Test Exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December and ICAI has announced that the next CPT Exam December 2012 Attempt is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 16th December 2012.

Therefore, Candidates who are willing to write their CPT Exam in December 2012 or thereafter need to Register themselves by submitting application form at the nearest ICAI chapter office. In view of the closure of banks on the account of half yearly closing on 29th of September, 2012 followed by Sunday 30th September, 2012, the last date for registration for CPT Course shall be 5th October, 2012.

The Exam Form for Common Proficiency Test December 2012 Attempt would be available from 8th October 2012 and the last date of submission of the same is 26th October 2012. All Students who have appeared/cleared Class XII Exams and have applied for CPT Registration with ICAI on or before 5th October 2012 are eligible to apply for the Common Proficiency Test December 2012 Attempt.

The CPT Exam December 2012 Attempt would consist of 4 Papers scheduled to be conducted in 2 Sessions of 2 Papers at the following timingsParticulars
First Session
(i.e. Morning Session) 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM (IST)Section – A Fundamentals of Accounting Section – B Mercantile Laws
Second Session
(i.e. Afternoon Session) 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM (IST) Section – C General Economics Section – D Quantitative Aptitude
