its an good option ,
but instead of going for ips you can directly try to write exams related to forensic department, there your value will be even more,or you can also try to write the entrance exam of cbi,

Hi, Yes. IAS Examination after MSc C.S is a good option. Though, it has no much benefit in appearing for the Examination, It will really help you in IPS Training. There is a special training for forensic where you C.S qualification will help you. It is also sure to help you when you in service.
Good Luck

Dear friend,

Yes you can go for IAS to join civil services but that will not be as much as good for your Master's subject that you have passed already.

After M.Sc in criminology you can join the forensic department as an superintendent or an inspection officer..

There are CBI also you can join to as your course is really based on this.

You can sit for the IAS exam definitely, but as i think according to your previous degrees you must go in the forensic science field further.

All the best!
