B.A in Criminology
Criminology is one of the subjects that come under Forensic Science. As known to all of us forensic science deals with a lot of subjects and uses its principles for the perfection. Criminology is thus a very important subject and thus various kinds of courses are offered in this subject. One of those courses is B.A in criminology.
Criminology deals with all the topics that concerns criminals and crimes. Under this course, one is taught various ways of dealing with crimes and criminals for the benefit of the society. Ion this course, one needs to understand the basic causes and reasons of crimes and its affect on the society. The candidates also study the psychology of the criminals and analyses it properly in order to understand the reason of the crime in a better way. It is said to be related to psychology for this reason. This course is also related to sociology as it tends to deal with social issues.
One needs to be at least 10 + 2 passed in order to be eligible for this course. The passing certificate of passing of 10 + 2 should be of a recognised educational board of India.
Course Outlook:
The course duration of B.A in Criminology is not very certain. It varies from college to college and universities to universities. Few universities offers this course with duration of 3 years, however few offer this course with duration of 1 year only.
Job Prospects:
There are plenty of jobs after successful completion of B.A in Criminology. One can work in various government and non government organizations for the welfare of the society. Even research option is open for them.
