I am interested in doing m.tech so i' am preparing for GATE 2012 but my doubt is i will be completing my degree in span of 5 years of my admission i.e from july 2006 to july 2011 so am i eligible for gate or is there is any rule that only students who have completed degree in 4 years are eligible.. please reply me..

you are eligible for the gate exam ,there is no such rule which tells that the students should complete the degree in four years inly to be eligible for the gate exam,
there is no limit for the number of attempts so do not worry and attempt the gate exam,
if you get an good rank you will have chance o improve the value of your education by studying in the iits and nullifying the effect of back logs in engineering

if you can fulfill the above eligibility criterion then you will be eligible for GATE examination.


there is no limitation to appear in GATE examination like age limitation, number of attempt limitation or minimum percentage limitation or number of backlog limitation etc. so you are eligible or GATE 2012.

Hi, you are eligible for GATE, as such there is no rule relating to your problem , also there is no restriction on number of attempts.
You only need to have completed your btech/BE.

yes you can sit for the gate exam they don't see whether you have finished your degre in 4 years or 5 years they only want you to have degree at the time of admission .

and gate result is valid for the 2 years.

-you can apply for it in pre-final and final year.

I Think Yes, You Are Eligible To Apply For GATE Entrance Examination.

Because To Appear In GATE Entrance Exams, You have to Complete Either Your Bachelor Degree In Engineering/Technology/Architecture OR Master Degree in Any Branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications.

Yes you are eligible for GATE exam because the eligibility criteria for GATE exam is degree in engineering & technology / Architecture or master degree in any discipline in the science. There is no limit of age for GATE exam.

that's why you are eligible for M.TECH 2012...........because this is valid for two years that,s why you should give it before also................

sir i completed my bsc degree in 2010 but i have one first year backlogs in how many attempts i can complete my subject or their is any time period is there sir.

my aggrigate is 56% am i eligible for gate

1. There is no such upper age limit.
2. There is no such fixed rule for the number of attempts.
3. No fixed percentage of marks is required.

5yrs integrated course in engineering or technology is eligible to GATE exam

sir where we gate the format. i.e. if the year of qualifying degee in 2012 or later............sir, i opened gate site but I could not find this format. so sir plz give me the step or link where I will get it.

Yes , B-TECH 3 rd year student are eligible for GATE exam. GATE score is valid for two years.You can attempts GATE exam in maximum times.

The eligibility criteria for GATE admission:-

(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/Technology or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor’s degree holders in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Electronics/ followed by qualifications obtained through an examination conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

(c) Bachelor’s degree holders in Architecture/Design (for M Des program only)

(d) Master’s degree holders in Physics with Electronics/Instrumentation (for M Tech programs).

my name is srinadh studying b.tech 3rd year in nalanda inst of engg and technology,sattenapalli, guntur. i am detained inthis year(3rd) due to lack of attendance. but i have 70% accregade. so i must repeat this 3rd year. so finally what i am saying is the duration of this course b.tech(4 years) is becoming 5-years for me. is am i eligible for gate after completing my b.tech in 5-years.... plz reply me

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it has some eligibility conditions as stated here:

1. Only graduates can apply. Final year appearing students are also eligible.

2. No age limit, or number of attempts limit are imposed. So you may take as many attempts you want, and so age is also no factor.

3. You must be a graduate in B.E/B.Tech or B.Architecture.

If you hold these criteria's then you can surely apply for the GATE exam.

IM doing my b.tech 2nd year now...but i have one year gap betwn intermediate and b.tech.now im detained in b.tech 2 year.Due to attendance shortage,could nt attend to the college properly due to health problem(capric hepatites of liver). i lost 2 years in my education. im persuing CSE branch.Am i eligible for campus recruitments of infosys OR any other companies??? will i surely gt the good job in MNC'S??
