hello sir, i m a final year student of BE in electronics & telecommunication and i want to know about the entrance exam for the m tech programme in bit mesra. could you give me all information regarding that.

The admission to M.E./M.Tech. programs at BIT Mesra is done on the basis of GATE.
But, a separate application form is required to apply for admission in BIT Mesra.
The application form will be available on official website of BIT Mesra, after April.

Also, the candidate who has not qualified GATE or who has not appeared GATE
can apply for M.E./M.Tech. programs in BIT Mesra but their application is considered
only after processing and interviewing all GATE qualified applicants who have applied
for it.
*The Non-GATE category students can't claim for MHRD scholarship.
*One should have at least 60%(55% for sponsored candidate and 45% for SC/ST candidate)
to be eligible to apply for it.

There are two methods to get entery into M.Tech course in BIT Mesra :
(1)GATE
(2)WITHOUT GATE

First method is through GATE exam .score good marks in gate and you would be able to take admission on the basis of your gate result. The students who come through gate have several advantages over the non-gate students.they can claim for MHRD scholarship but not non-gate students.

Second method is for non-gate students but it entirely depends upon the number of students who come through gate. first of all gate students take admission and if some seats are still vacant then only there is provision to take admission of non-gate students on the basis of interview. as mentioned earlier non-gate students have several dis-advantage over gate students.

sir. in gate 2012 i got 26.67 marks out of 100 in electrical engg. so, will i get admitted to bit mesra for pursuing m.tech.

1.for doing m.tech,you should go for the entrance exam GATE.
2.if you clear the entrance exam GATE,then definitely you will get the admission into M.TECH.
3.if you want to do M.TECH in abroad then you for GRE entrance exam.

->If you want to get the the admission for M.tech within india then go for GATE ,if you clear the GATE exam then surely you will get the admission in best IIT based institutes or the institute of your choice that may be either BIT Mesra or any other.
->And if you want to go to abroad then go for GRE.

Date of start of admissions at BIT Mesra(Non GATE):-
You can the date of start of admissions for M.tech (NON-GATE) from the university itself.
For the candidates who wish to join the 2011 batch the test has already been conducted on 18th December in 2010. You will need to wait another year if you wish to join the BIT mesra institute.
