The Birla Institute of Technology was established in the year 1955 at Mesra, Ranchi by Mr. B M Birla. He had a vision that this would be a world class institute for engineering and technology and would provide highest quality educational programs. Currently BIT is among the front runners in the field of technical education and research.
Campus:
The campus is very well laid out and provides facilities cultural, recreation and sports events. It consists of an Auditorium, Guest House, Shopping Complex, Railways Reservation Counter, Hostel and Dispensary. BIT has campuses in Allahabad, Deoghar, Jaipur, KolKata, Lalpur, Noida, Patna and Overseas campuses in Bahrain, Muscat and Ras Al khaimah. These centers offer state-of-art facilities for better education of its students.
Infrastructure:
BIT is very well equipped and does not compromise in infrastructure. It has highly modern classroom facility. Besides, it also boasts of an Auditorium which can accommodate up to 2500 people. The hostels are also self sufficient and well furnished. It also includes research labs, lecture halls, workshops, libraries etc.
Course Offered:
BIT offers around 22 different courses. The various fields under which these courses are offered are as follows, Engineering and Technology, Applied Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Architecture, Management, Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
Admission:
The admission is carried out through entrance examinations. Admission is done through AIEEE for undergraduate programs and CAT for postgraduate programs. More information about this available on the official BIT website.
