Re: Job Opportunities in Government sector after completion of M.Com course?
After the M.Com course there are some government jobs available for you. However you should be prepared to appear in the entrance exam to get these jobs. Among the most preferred is the job of lecturer in government colleges at central and state level. There are basically two ways to apply for lecturer job in government colleges regardless the subject. You are required to appear in entrance exams like:
UGC-NET SET All those who aspires to become lecturer in central government colleges are required to appear in NET exam. NET stands for National Eligibility Test and please remember that you can only use the NET score to get job in central government run colleges. There are some basic requirements which all candidates are required to meet in order to appear in the University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test. 1. You should have post graduate degree in any field. In your case M.Com would suffice. 2. You are only eligible to apply for NET exam in the same subject as in your post graduation course. 3. Candidates are required to secure 55 percent marks in Masters degree without any roundoff. 4. Those who belong to SC/ST/OBC etc are required to secure 50 percent marks and no roundoff to appear in NET. 5. Students in final year of Masters degree course may also apply however they will have to meet the percentage criteria on completing the degree. They also require to submit the degree within 2 years of taking the NET exam or they will be disqualified. 6. Age Limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years. 7. There is no upper age limit for candidates who are applying for lecturer job. SET As per the guidelines of UGC, all states in India are required to hold their own entrance exam for candidates aspiring for lecturer job. Therefore each state conducts its own State Eligibility Test. All states follow the same guidelines as for the UGC-NET exam. Candidates who have cleared the SET exam can not get lecturer job in central government affiliated university. You need to apply for lecturer job in the state where you passed the SET exam. RAILWAY JOBS There are few jobs in the Indian Railways where M.Com candidate can apply through the entrance exam. Some of these railway jobs are: ASM Commercial Apprentice Traffic Apprentice etc. I must admit these jobs are not really up to your qualification but since you asked for the government jobs I am pointing it out for you. You will have to appear in the Railway Recruitment Board exam to get these jobs. PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS You also have the option to work for Public Sector banks in India. There are several government banks like Syndicate Bank, State Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank etc where you can apply through the entrance exam. The post you can apply for is PO. To do so you will have to appear in Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Common Written Examination (CWE) after which you may have the opportunity to work in 19 PSU banks in India as the Probationary Officer. Eligibility Your age should be between 21 to 30 years. up to 5 years relaxation for reserve category candidates. A graduation degree in discipline from any recognized college would be enough to appear in the exam. BSNL Every year Public Sector telecom company BSNL issue recruitment notification for hundreds of Junior Accounts Officer (JAO) jobs. Around half of the vacancies are reserved for the SC/ST/OBC. JAO Exam Eligibility Age Limit: Your age should be between 20 to 30 to appear in the JAO exam. There is upper age relaxation for the candidates from reserved category as per the rules of government of India. Education Criteria: You should have completed one of the following courses to be eligible for the exam. Chartered Accountant (CA) Company Secretary (CS) M.Com Cost & Work Accountant I must say apart from the lecturer job I would recommend you to go for JAO exam because the pay is good. You will get around Rs 20,000 excluding the perks. |

Re: Job Opportunities in Government sector after completion of M.Com course?
Being an M.Com graduate, you can apply in Income tax department. You can appear for SSC exam as part of this. You can get in to lectureship positions in government colleges or universities if you clear UGC NET exam. You can also apply for civil services exam, railway jobs etc. A bank job is a suitable job option. You have to appear for written examination. If you clear written exam, GD and personal interview is the last stage of selection.
