After completing your B.E in EC stream you can go through the BSNL Junior Telecom Officer(JTO) in the Telecom Branch. I think JTO is the best job which suits Engineers from ECE Stream. BSNL JTO examination was not held this year hence the exam may be held only the next year. You can go through the following website when the notifications are released

As you can see the last recruitment of Junior Accounts Officer was held in April 2010.After that no recruitment was done by BSNL.Anyways since you want to go through the Examination I have attached you even the Syllabus hence go through it.
The notifications will be published in the “Employment News”. All the exams conducted by the BSNL will be released in the above website.

Eligibility for BSNL JTO(Telecom):-

*The candidate must have complete the B.E/B.tech in the field of Electronics/Electrical/Computer science/Radio/Information technology

*The candidate should have 60% aggregate through out the career..

*The age should be in between 21-30 years.
For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years.
*The candidate can also appear in the exam during the final year of B.E/B.tech course.
So, you have to fulfill all these criteria first..

Since it is a core branch, you get offers both in core related i.e electronics or communication oriented and software field too.
For telecom jobs you can write jto,tta exam conducted by bsnl.


-bsnl invites applications from eligible indian for the posts of junior telecom officers (jto).

The total number of vacancies is 3945.
The split in vacancies is as follows
jto(telecom) – 3545 vacancies
jto( civil) — 200 vacancies
jto( electrical) -200 vacancies


eligibility:


For jto (telecom) vacancies candidates having a bachelors degree in engineering/technology in any of the following streams are eligible


telecommunications
electrical or electronics
radio engg and
computer engineering
information technology.


-for jto( civil) vacancies candidates must possess be/btech or its equivalent in civil engineering


-for jto( electrical) vacancies candidates must possess be/btech or its equivalent degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.


Age requirements:


Candidates should not be above 30 years of age on the closing date of the receipt of applications.


Age relaxations for different categories are applicable as usual according to government rules.


Selection procedure:

Selection will be made through an all india competitive examination.


The written test will be objective type and will be for three hours.


The test contains 3 sections in which 2 sections contain questions based on engineering stream and the other section contains general knowledge questions. The two engineering based sections contain 50 questions each and gk section contains 20 questions.


-complete fee exemption is provided to sc, st and ph candidates.

-you can apply for jobs in isro and drdo etc for students who are interested in research side.bank p.o's exams conducted by many public and private banks.

Many software companies like accenture,wipro,tcs,infosys,ibm etc offer opportunities to freshers.

The recruitment of jto exam is expected to be held in May, 2012 and final selection will be completed till September 2012. Only those engineers who have completed their degree till 2011 will be eligible to apply.
eligibility:
you must possess a Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology or equivalent Engineering degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized engineering college / university :
1. Telecommunication,
2. Electronics,
3. Radio,
4. Computer,
5. Electrical
