I want to do diploma in elecrical from the karnatka state open university by the distance learning education. I am govt. employee.
please suggest me if i will do diploma from this university that will be valid in uttrakhand.
I am also employee in uttrakhand power corporation ltd.

Karnataka State Open University is approved by UGC . But Karnataka State Open University is not approved by AICTE

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) was established on 1st June 1996 with the assent of His Excellency Honorable Governor of Karnataka as a full fledged University in the academic year 1996 vide Government notification no ED 1 UOV 95 dated 12th February 1996 (KSOU Act – 1992).

The Karnataka State Open University has been recognized by the following well-known organisation :

• The Distance Education Council (DEC) New Delhi,

please provide the information that does Karnataka State Open Univerity provides single sitting degree for discontinued students........

if yes then do they have any branch or zonal office at kolkata?

Can KSOU operate outside Karnataka? What is the territorial jurisdiction of KSOU?

Has DEC,New Delhi affiliated this academic course specifically B.Tech Engineering of KSOU ? And if yes then this course must be in equal weightage to AMIE(Institution of Engineers) which is not approved by AICTE. So will KSOU Engineering courses with other affiliations ( i.e.approval from Min of HRD) will get eligibility like AMIE for the UPSC exams, Central & State Govt. Jobs, GATE exams etc.
Please anyone to clarify.

The Acronym "AICTE" stands for All India Council For Technical Education.

All the universities who offer Technical degree courses must have got approval from the AICTE to offer these courses to the students.

As far as i am concerned , the Karnataka State Open University is not approved by the AICTE.

However , the university has got the recognition from the UGC [University Grants Commission].

when we search for official web site of KSOU we get almost 10-12 sites with different web address. can anyone tell me which is the correct website of KSOU and why so many different sites claiming to be Karnataka state open university?

If one do a B.tech by AICTE Institute and other By UGC .... In Both Cases which Have The More Value ... B.Tech From AICTE or B.Tech From UGC .
