The last date to register for the Common Proficiency Test, to be held in December 2012, is 01-10-2012.
If you fail to register for the test before the prescribed date, you will not be considered eligible to take the common proficiency test to be held in the month of December this year. However, separate application, even after registering on or before the prescribed date, is required to be made once the notification for the test is published by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

As far as the Registration Fee for Common Proficiency Test is concerned, it is Rs.6000 excluding examination fee and examination application fee,either registered online or through offline mode.The Examination fee of Common Proficiency Test is Rs.500 and the Exam Application Fee is Rs.500. Now, candidates making the payment using Debit/Credit Card will be exempted from paying the Exam Application Fee and therefore, such candidates will only need to pay Rs.500 as the examination fee.
