NET Exam Dates :-

• Date of commencement :- 12 / April / 2012
• Last date for receipt of application :- 04 / May / 2012 ( already Over )

NET Stands for National Eligibility Test and this examination is conducted by University Grants Commission twice in a year . This time the examination will be conducted on June 24 , 2012 .

The candidate who have secured at least 55% per cent marks in their Post graduate degree or equivalent qualification examination from University and those who are appearing in the final year of master degree may also eligible to apply for this examination or awaiting the exam results may also eligible to apply for this examination .

There is no upper age limit for applying the post of Lectureship . But in the case of Junior Research Fellowship , the upper age limits is 28 years on 1st / June / 2012 . Relaxation is given to the reserved categories . 5 years relaxation is given to the all the reserved categories .

The Syllabus for all the NET Subjects and the previous year question papers are uploaded to the University Grants Commission website which can be downloaded www.ugconline.in .

University Grants Commission is Conducted NET and JRF in 94 subjects in Humanities , Including Applications , Electronic Science , Commerce , Management , Tourism ..... etc.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :

i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

iii) The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.

NET - NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST conducted by UGC two times a year one in June and other in December for selection of Lectureship and award to Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).

The candidate having completed Post Graduation in any stream with at least 55% marks from a recognised University and not bellow the age of 19 years is eligible to apply for NET. There is no upper age bar for those applying for Lectureship but those applying for JRF should be within the age of 28 years.

The registration process for June 2012 Exam has already been over, the last date of application on line was on 04.05.2012.

The last date of receipt of hard copy of the on line application form along with allied documents and exam fee is 10.05.2012.

The exam is going to be held on 24.06.2012.
