NET stands for National Eligiblity test and this examination was Conducted by UGC Twice in a year, The examination was Held in June and December Every year, the June 2011 Examination was Already completed and If you have missed the June NET Examination then please apply for the December NET.

>> The Notification of December NET Examination was Going to be declared soon in the Month of September 2011. The examination was Going to be held on 24/Dec/2011 And the Notification was Released on 26/Sep/2011.

So, please wait for the December NET Examination Notification to get the complete Information about NET Examination.

>> To apply for NET Examination you need to complete your Post Graduate degree course form a recognised university and You must have scored minimum 55% marks in your Post Graduation, Final year Post graduate candidates are also eligible for NET Examination.

>> Candidates may apply for Lectureship post OR Junior research fellowship Post in NET Examination. For JRF your age should not be more than 28 years and for Lectureship there is no upper age restrictions.

The Examination fees of NET was Rs 450 and you have to pay the fees through challan in any SBI Branch and then you are eligible to fill the application form Online by visit the UGC Website.

Structure and pattern of net exam;-



for both lectureship and jrf same question paper is prepared by ugc. It constitutes subjects as follows;

paper i -objective type- general knowledge, current affairs, reasoning ability and quantitative methods (50 questions) – 100 marks


paper ii- objective type – core subject (50 questions)- 100 marks


paper iii- descriptive type – core subject – will have four sections. Section 1- 5x5= 25 marks (30 words), section 2 –15x5=75 marks (30 words), section 3- 5x12= 60 marks (200 words) and section 4- 1x40= 40 marks(1000 words)

grand total = 400 marks



paper i & ii constitutes the first half. It is conducted during day time. Paper iii, the next half is conducted afternoon. There is no negative marking for objective questions. Previous years question papers of all the subjects are given in the official website of ugc.

The Examination details of UGC NET Exam:-


The NET exam date is18-12-2011 But still UGC have not published application brochure .

The application details will be published in 26th September,2011.So you have to prepare well for NET exam.

There are one declaration is announced UGC . No negative Marking in Paper-I and Paper -II exam.

Online form will available after 26th September.

Date of Close of Online Submission: 13-09-2011

Last Date of Receipt of Duly Completed Hard Copy of Online Application Forms: 16-09-2011
