Hello,
Why do you want to go for government job, after passing out computer engineer. After getting the technical degree, normally people go for private corporate sectors. Although you are eligible to apply for government jobs in ONGC or IOCL or BHEL. But mainly you need to clear the GATE examination, also known as the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers, to go for this. Instead of such a complication why don't you directly go for software developer posts in Intel or CompaQ or Accenture or TCS or IBM etc.
The salary is good there and there is a lot of scope for improvement.
