I think you have already applied for this year UPSC Civil services examination and the Preliminary examination will be held soon on 20/May/2012.

This examination is also called CSAT (Civil services aptitude test).

There are two Objective papers in this examination and it is compulsory for all the candidates and if you cracked the CSAT Examination, Only then you are eligible for Main examination.

Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the subjects for Main examination on the basis of your Graduation Only. But to apply for Main examination, you have to cracked the Preliminary examination. So please prepared well for the Preliminary examination, Only then you will be able to cracked this examination.
