Are PCM candidates allowed to apply and write the NEET examination?
Hi, I will be completing my 12th Board exams next year from Science stream with subject combination of PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). I heard that only PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) candidates are allowed to write the NEET exam. Is it true? Can't I also write the NEET exam with PCM subject combination?

Re: Are PCM candidates allowed to apply and write the NEET examination?
You are not eligible to appear for the NEET examination with PCM in std 12th.
NEET is conducted by NTA. It is conducted every year. The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed 12th in PCB with minimum 50% aggregate. There is no upper age limit to get admission in the course. So, you are not eligible to appear in the examination with PCM. |

Re: Are PCM candidates allowed to apply and write the NEET examination?
NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and the minimum education required for appearing in the same examination is a Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Biotechnology as main subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate in PCB group from a recognized board of education.
So, having opted for PCM group for your Class 12th studies, you are not eligible for appearing in NEET as Biology/Biotechnology is compulsory in Class 12th for appearing in the same examination. For more details regarding the same examination, you can refer to the link www.ntaneet.nic.in. |
