Yes, you are eligible to switch to different after std 8th and get admission in ICSE or any other recognised board
The admission procedure varies with school due to limited seats. Candidates have to submit the required essential documents such as :- Mark sheet. Identity proof. Character Certificate. Transfer Certificate. |

Re: Possibility to switch from class 8th under West Bengal Board to ICSE Board in class 9th?
Switching from the West Bengal Board to the ICSE Board in class 9th is possible, but it depends on several factors such as the policies of the specific school you wish to join and the availability of seats. Here are some general points to consider:
Check with the school: Contact the ICSE-affiliated school where you wish to enroll in class 9th and inquire about their admission process. Each school may have its own set of guidelines, including the availability of seats and any specific requirements for students coming from other boards. Transfer certificate: You will likely be required to provide a transfer certificate from your current school. This certificate verifies your enrollment and academic records up until the point of transfer. Age eligibility: Ensure that you meet the age eligibility criteria specified by the ICSE Board for class 9th admission. Different boards may have different age requirements, so confirm that you fulfill the criteria set by the ICSE Board. Documentation: Be prepared to provide necessary documents such as birth certificates, proof of address, academic records, and any other documents requested by the ICSE school during the admission process. Curriculum adjustment: Understand that transitioning from one board to another may require adjustment to the curriculum and learning methods. The ICSE curriculum differs from the West Bengal Board curriculum, so be prepared for any changes in subjects, syllabi, and teaching methodologies. Readiness for the change: Evaluate your preparedness for the change in curriculum and teaching style. Consider the differences in subjects, evaluation patterns, and expectations from students. Assess whether you are ready to adapt to these changes and the additional workload that may come with it. |
