Re: Is it possible to do MD after BDS? if so then which subjects?
Hai,
MBBS is the prescribed qualification for doing MD. So, you cannot do MD without completing MBBS with internship. If you choose to go for teaching line, it is better you complete MDS and then do Ph.D with specialization. If you select rare specialiation, the demand will be higher for you and also the pay and position. For becoming Professor, minimum qualification is having PG degree. But Ph.D would be great if you want to become Professor in a reputed college or University. All the Best.... |

Natural post graduation in dental medicine is MDS. MD is the post graduation in other medical streams who are coming after completing MBBS degree. You can take MDS and join teaching career as a lecturer or Associate Professor grade.

No, After BDS only MDS is possible or you can go for clinical research courses. So you can only go for MDS not for MD........... |

Re: Is it possible to do MD after BDS? if so then which subjects?
Hai Gaytry,
The Qualification of MBBS and MD is required to specialise in a particular area . MD is a post-gradution degree of 3 years duration. After being done MD, the Duration of Phd. will be just 2 years. so, since you have been doing your BDS, you will need to pursue MBBS and then MD to be eligible for specialization in any particular area You are also required to obtain one year internship along with a temporary or permanent registration from Dental council of India to pursue MD after MBBS. |

Re: Is it possible to do MD after BDS? if so then which subjects?
hi friend,
For admission in MD course one should have MBBS degree from recognised university by MCI or WHO atleast, not BDS. A BDS candidate can enroll in only MDS course MDS can be done in following specifications: - Orthodontics • Oral Medicine • Pedo dontics • Prostho dontics • Oral pathology • Operative dental surgery (ODS) • Perio dontics • Surgical Dentistry You will have itself a teaching experience after your MDS as you will be in internship period of it, however without experience having MDS degree wont work to get in teaching line at all. |

Dear Friend ,
No , You can't do MD after BDS . MBBS with intership is that you need to do that . If higher studies is your option , I would personally suggest MDS . Later you can do PhD also . ALL THE BEST . V M M M V |
