Re: Is it possible to do self study for IAS exam? How should we get the hall ticket for this exam?
yes with self study only you may be able to clear IAS examination. to become IAS officer you have to appear in civil service examination. civil service examination is conducted by UPSC. the eligibility criterion for civil service examination is candidate should have minimum of graduation degree in any discipline from any recognized institute. also the age must be in between 21 to 30 for general category candidates.
in civil service examination there are two optional subject as well english and general knowledge paper is compulsory. now if you want to give civil service examination through self study then you have to study well. the optional two subject should be from your branch of study so that you know the subject. you have to give a big effort on english and general knowledge. go through the previous year civil service examination question papers. you will get idea about which types of questions come in the examination. study at that level so that you can answer those question. if you join in any coaching institution they will just arrange some classes and provide some study material. but at the end you have to study all and you have to give examination well. so if you collect some good book and prepare yourself for civil service examination attentively then surely you will able to clear civil service examination. there are two written examination in civil service. 1. civil service preliminary examination 2. civil service main examination. if you can clear the civil service preliminary examination then only you will be able to appear in civil service main examination. to know more details about civil service examination visit the official website of UPSC http://www.upsc.gov.in if you apply for the civil service examination then you will get the hall ticket by post before the examination. |
