VAO Exam Details:-

## Tamilnadu Public Service Commission conducts an examination for the post of Village Administrative Officers whenever there is a vacancy for this post. The notifications for this exam is published in two parts. One for the SC/ST candidates and the second one for all the other categories. This year the vacancies for this post is as high as 1870.

## This year the vacancies for this post is as high as 1870. Out of the total seats vacant they keep 30% of the total seats reserved for women, 5% for ex-servicemen and 3% for physically disabled people. If they are unable to get that many women then the remaining vacant seats are filled up by that number of men.

## The minimum qualification required to sit for this exam is a secondary school leaving certificate. In other words you need to be a 10th pass out. You can still apply if you have higher qualifications but even then you need to show this certificate. It is mandatory.

## Your age should not be below 21 years when you are applying for this exam. This rule is binding on all. Whereas the upper age limit for general category candidate is 30 years.

## There is age relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For SC/ST and other such reserved category candidates the upper age limit s 40 years instead of 30 years.

## Written Examination is of vital importance because the selection procedure is primarily based on that. More you score, higher will be your chances of making it to the next round of selection.

## Some other factors are also considered when selecting the deserving candidates. For example the district chosen by you and the number of reservations of the district in question.

## For the exam questions will come of S.S.L.C. standard and you will have to face 200 questions in total and the time limit for this exam is only three hours.

## Questions will come from following sections: General Knowledge and General English/General Tamil. The first paper is bilingual and the second paper is optional. Your preference needs to be stated in the application form itself.

## Cost of the application form for general category candidates is Rs. 125 and for reserved category candidates it is Rs. 50.

Age Limit
TNPSC VAO Exam age limit is different for General and Reserved category candidates.Candidates,who belongs to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs and DWs of all Castes must have 21 years and the max age limit is 40 years as on 01-07-2012For General candidates(who did not belongs to above listed caste) must have the minimum age of 21 years and the max age limit is 30 years


Education Qualifications:
1.Must posses S.S.L.C Public Examination or it’s Equivalent Education or Higher education qualifications like Intermediate/Degree.
2.It’s clear that the Minimum Education qualification is S.S.L.C
