My question is if we study in private engineering college are we that much preferrable for a government job in comparison to one studying in government college?

no its not a matter .govt. jobs are open competetive.there are equally chances for both govt. and private college student.

The government jobs' eligibility criteria is to have the required qualification either in government college or private college. There is no such partiality that government jobs are only for government college students.

It doesn't depends upon which type of college you have studied in,
as most of the recruitment's on govt. jobs are done through tests and those who have cleared them can either be directly recruited or called for an interview,so if you have a good knowledge about your subject than you will definitely get the job.

Those who got admit into govt. Or private colleges first off all all are wished for govt. Job.so there is no matter what may be the college all students want govt. Jobs to do.az all colleges are equivalent to each other there is no restriction in govt. Job any student may apply for it.and those are crack the exam who are well prepared.
