Re: Requirements of IAS exam?
There is no specific exam as IAS exam, to become an IAS(Indian Administrative Service) officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. As th Civil Service Exam is very tough and competitive one should prepare the same rigorously at least one year before appearing for the exam. Re: Requirements of IAS exam?
To apply for Indian Administrative Service you will have to clear the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The Civil Service Examination is conducted for IAS, IPS, IFS etc.
The important thing to remember here is that there are no physical requirements to appear for the Civil Services Examination for Indian Administrative Service. You just need to meet the academic criteria and that would be enough to appear for the entrance exam. If you meet the criteria below then give yourself 6-8 months to prepare and only them apply for the Civil Services Examination. You can now only apply for the exam in 2014 since the date of applying is already over for 2013 exam. Eligibility 1. Candidates apart from of Indian origin are barred from appearing. 2. Bachelor degree should have been obtained by the candidate. 3. There is no criteria for percentage. 4. Your age should fall between 21 to 30 years limit. 5. There is relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates. 6. SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 years relaxation. Exam Procedure 1. Preliminary Exam (written test) 2. Main Exam (written test) 3. Interview The Preliminary exam has 2 written test and only the candidates who manages to clear it are called for the Main examination. Only the marks obtained in main examination are added in the final tally. |
