If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts the Examination for the Recruitment of Village Administrative Officer (VAO).
Eligibility
Age should be 22 to 30 years as on the last date of the receipt of application.
Age should not exceed 40 years for SC/ SC (Arunthathiyars),STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCM and Destitute Widows of all castes.
Age relaxation upto 5 years is available for persons those who are affected by the ban order as per the orders of the Government.
Exam Notification
Exam Notification will be published in the Employment news.
Exam Notification will be published in the website of TNPSC.
How to apply
Application can be obtained from the Post Offices on payment of Rs.30/- and Examination fees in Rs.75/-
Candidates can avail the application online through the Commission's website.
Candidates should enclose attested copies of all certificates along with the application form.

Educational Qualification
Candidate those who passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission into Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) in College Courses of studies.
Essential Tamil Knowledge
Candidate must have passed the S.S.L.C Public Examination with Tamil as one of the languages.
Candidate must have studied the High School Course in Tamil Medium and passed the S.S.L.C Public Examination in Tamil Medium.
Candidate must have passed the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil, conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
Written Test - Objective Type Questions
General Knowledge
This section consists of 100 questions carrying 100 marks
General English
This section consists of 100 questions carrying 100 marks
General Tamil
This section consists of 100 questions carrying 100 marks
Minimum qualifying marks for Selection
Candidate should get 90 marks for selection

VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

$$ You need a secondary school leaving certificate to sit for this examination. So the basic qualification required is a 10th pass out certificate or its equivalent.

$$ If you have higher qualifications then also you can apply for this exam. But even then you have to show SSLC certificate.

$$ You need to be physically fit when applying for this exam. So you have to show the authorities concerned certificates to prove that you are fit.

$$ You need to attain the age of 21 before giving this exam. For general category candidates the upper age limit is 30 years.

$$ There is some relaxation for the reserved category candidates. For them the upper age limit is 40 years.

$$ You need to be well versed in Tamil language because you will be posted in the villages of Tamilandu.

Selection Procedure is based on the following:-

1. Written Exam Marks
2. The district chosen by you
3. Number of reservation in the district chosen by you

TNPSC VAO Question Pattern:-

1) General Knowledge (SSLC Standard): 100 questions for 150 marks
2) General Tamil / General English (SSLC Standard): 100 questions for 150 marks

Please Note:- Minimum qualifying marks for VAO exam is 90 out of 300.
