scope of food and catering industry in India is really good,according to the celsus in 2007 by a reputed news papers in kolkata this industry in India is worth 5 billion dollars.

It is due to growing intrest of IITians after returning from abroad.

there is great demand for professionals in this field in hotel sector,so if you like this field go for it

it has really very great career...food and catering professionals are in great demand as the hotel industry is spreading its wings...and also cruze culture is growing...everywhere there is need of food and catering professionals...and they really earn a handsome amount in the end of month..so go for it from any prestigious institute

Let me tell you a small story.

I forgot his name(i think it was ramakishnan),he belongs form a poor family in south India,his father was not alive,his mother works in a small catering shop,she get 3000/- stipend,ramakishnan study in a government college in 2nd puc when he cracked IIT-JEE and joined the b.tech program and become a chemical engineer,he get placement in US,after coming back to India 2 years later,he started his own catering business naming something Annapurna ,not exactly remember,now his catering company has a bussines turn over of worth rs.200 crores.

The thing i want to say is that,when an IITian who have lots of oppurtunity,can get into the catering and business technology,then you why not.

It is expected that Indian catering & food technology will touch the business of worth $15billion.

there are many internationally reputed hotels in india so you have good scope in this line ....many arrangement are also done here in contract basis so industry may get good response......

as far as i concern,it is a good move by you...now a days food and catering industry professionals are in large demand.......so friend go for it....

this is really good industry and i think this sector is having a great future. if you are doing HM then after completing it you can even open your own restaurant or you can get a good job in some big hotels like TAJ,oberoi and many more all over the worls and your salary will be approx to 40,000.so i think its really a great field. go for it

this is a great sector and in time to come this sector is going to rock as the food fad's are a lot in this country and really pilling on and on so this sector has a tremdous scope in future and it requires skilled and traioned professionals, in the hotel industry in india it can beconsidered as one of the emerging sector for growth and a support to indian economy...all the best

so if you go to food and catering industries, you can go for study of HOTEL MANAGMENT.
to study in hotel managment there are degree and diploma courses through regular and distance education.this is your choice.Many universties and colleges in india provides
B.SC(HOTEL MANAGMENT&CATERING TECH.) and also diploma ,certificate courses.
