firstly for gate you better have to get a good coching institute ,if you dont want this u better buy study materials like brillient,it is available at cheap cost in places like ber sarai in delhi also in nai sadak,purani delhi before starting preparation u must know gate is very selective exam u can clear it by studing at list 3-4 technical papers including mats thats compulsory u must choose the papers like edc,analog electronics,controls,networks,digital electronics

GATE examination mainly consists of Engineering Mathematics and the second part mainly consists of your core subjects.Hence you need to focus on both parts therefore you need to cover subjects right from the first year of Engineering course.

Here am attaching you the Syllabus so please go through it.Prepare a time table so that you prepare a specific subject for a day.Its better that you go through subjects of previous years so that you get an idea about the examination format.The more you practice the more easier will be the exam.Hence,i suggest you to go through as many as model papers as possible.

You'll not get any all in one study materials that perfectly for a highly competitive exam like GATE

you have to go through many books like references and many text books with good authors.

go through many journals.

go through different articles in magazines which are related to GATE

The eligibility for GATE exam is as follows:
-Bachelor's degree in engineering/technology/architecture.
-Masters degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent.
-Final and Pre Final year student are also eligible for GATE exam.

this is siddu, if you study the ace gate coaching books, they are very much useful to you, they are mainly consentrating the total subject with shortcuts. so they are very useful.
