You can apply for NET Exam to apply for PhD.

the UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are held for the selection of candidates for assistant professor posts, for JRF and to pursue PhD.

The NET qualify candidates are exempted from any written exam and selected based on personal interview.

The minimum eligibility to apply for UGC NET exam is post graduation degree from recognized university with more than 55% marks. There is no age limit for NET lectureship while candidates must be below 30 years for NET JRF.

As per the new UGC Norms, the PhD can not be done through distance learning.

You can apply for any government job or apply for any higher education for full time course.

In polymer chemistry, you may get a job as professor, chemist or analytics chemical engineer etc.
