Re: Top branches in Chemistry
dear Friend,
There are so many branches ,we can divide them into two sections named Major Branch & Minor Branch ,you can choose in your choice such as A:Major Branch which are very important in Chemistry carrier. 1. Physical Chemistry 2. Organic Chemistry 3. Biochemistry Chemistry 4: Inorganic Chemistry 5:Analytical Chemistry B:Minor Branch: 1:Materials Chemistry, 2: Polymer Chemistry, 3:Environmental Chemistry, 4:Pharmacology, 5:Thermo-Chemistry, 6:Nuclear Chemistry, 7:Electro-Chemistry, 8:Computational Chemistry etc..... There are so many options for you mentioned above, you should choose your own choice as you are in M.Sc 3rd sem. But you have to keep the clear concept onAtoms,Elements,Molecules,Bonding,Compound, State of Matter, reaction etc... Then you will be clear in any entrance exam like GATE CAT,XAT etc.... then you can go for research sector in Ph.D. Good luck. |

physical chemistry bio chemistry analytrical chemistry organic chemistry in organic chemistry industrial chemistry polymeric chemistry environmental chemistry nuclear chemistry So, I think from these you can go for either Bio Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry as future prospect in this two branches are very good. If you take Bio Chemistry then you can go for research in biotechnology, bioinformatics etc. and also can get job in the :- Oil and Natural Gas Commission , Indian Oil Corporation Limited etc. For industrial chemistry you can get job in the following :- ACC Cement , Cold Drink Companies etc. |

Re: Top branches in Chemistry
Dear friend
The top Branches of Chemistry are as given below - Agrochemistry Analytical chemistry - Qualitative Analysis - Quantitative Analysis - Procedures - Techniques Applied chemistry Biochemistry Biological Chemistry Combinatorial Chemistry Environmental Chemistry Food Chemistry Inorganic chemistry - Mineralogy - Solid State Chemistry Makromolecular chemistry - Chemistry of plastics - Makromolecular chemistry - Natural products - Proteins Medicinal chemistry - Biochemistry - Clinical chemistry - Drugs, pharmaceuticals - Forensic chemistry - Medicinal Chemistry - Pharmaceutical chemistry - Pharmacology So, please choose Major Or minor, according to your own choice, in which you feel great interest. But, i will suggest you, just choose Organic Chemistry as a major. So, please dont worry, just choose according to your own interest. |

Re: Top branches in Chemistry
The days are long past when one person could hope to have a detailed knowledge of all areas of chemistry.
Those pursuing their interests into specific areas of chemistry communicate with others who share the same interests. Over time a group of chemists with specialized research interests become the founding members of an area of specialization. The areas of specialization that emerged early in the history of chemistry, such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and industrial chemistry, along with biochemistry, remain of greatest general interest. There has been, however, much growth in the areas of polymer, environmental, and medicinal chemistry during the 20th century. Moreover, new specialities continue to appear, as, for example, pesticide, forensic, and computer chemistry. for more to read http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/108987/chemistry/32495/The-scope-of-chemistry |

Hi friend,
As chemistry is very much interesting subject if we opt any field or in any course ,the basics of chemistry is very much important so it is good that your opting chemistry .ANALYTICAL AS WELL AS PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY both have good scope as well as benefit for you because the all the biological science include reactions with the use of various instruments for that we must have strong basics so that it is helpful . |

Re: Top branches in Chemistry
Bsc chemistry has got a good scope as many Pharmaceutical companies ,Biotech companies and other companies reqcruites these students,If you want to go for higher studies then that is also a good option to go for after that you can enter into Teaching field also...After Bsc you can go for MBA programme also.
YOU CAN APPLY FOR THESE COURSES M.sc (biochemistry) M.sc (bioinformatics) M.sc (chemistry) M.sc. (applied chemistry) or you can also do first M.Sc in Chemistry Then Qualiffy GATE entrance Exam. you will get good jobs through IITs. |
