There are very few Universities which offers PhD program in Mathematics. One of the University which offers PhD program in Mathematics is Chennai Mathematical Institute. Candidate willing to apply in CMI, must have passed B.E. or B.Tech or B.Sc [Mathematics] or M.Sc [Mathematics]. To get admission one has to appear in an entrance exam which is going to be held on 25th May 2012.
Candidates applying to the PhD programme in Mathematics at Chennai Mathematical Institute, can qualify for the interview round on the basis of their performance in the written exam in Mathematics conducted by NBHM/CSIR, without writing the CMI entrance examination. The academic session begins from August 2012.
