What is beneficial for me doing M.S. or M.Tech?I am studying BE(Computer Science).

it will be better if you do MS because in computer science branch there is lot of exposure in foreign countries than india and it will be better if you do it than m.tech because there is not much demand for m.tech

it is always beneficial to go for m.tech after b.tech......
it will be good as the subjects and topics will be familiar to what you have done in b.tech.....
if you go for other courses then you might get some difficulties in some new topics.....

so go for m.tech ....it has got a larger scope than m.s....

Persuing MS will be better for you,but problem is that in India there is no good infrastucture for MS also there are very few or no institute in India which offers MS in computer application in India.

If you want to opt for MS then go foreign institutes.

Or better to go for M.tech it has also good career oppurtunity in India,you can persue it from best institutes of india like- IIT's,IISC,NIT etc.

MS or MTech?

FACTS:
.
- MTech and MS need ~60 credits (or a scaled value, depending on the institution)
- MTech is 2 years;
MS is 1 1/2 years to 3 years
- MTech by definition is a course program, where the emphasis is on advanced coursework spanning various areas;
MS by definition is a research program, where the emphasis is on doing ORIGINAL work in one particular area.
- MTech credits is split as ~40 coursework and ~20 project;
MS credits split as ~20 coursework and ~40 thesis
- MTech courses span different areas;
MS coursework is typically chosen to provide knowledge in your chosen area of research
- MTech project (~1 year) is not necessarily research oriented;
MS thesis is research-oriented
- MTech in India is equivalent to an “MS with project” option in the US
MS in India is equivalent to an “MS with thesis” option in the US

How to choose between MS and MTech
.
Decide what you want first. If you’re interested in working in one particular area, then MS is the thing for you. If you are not able to decide and want to taste different areas in CS, then MTech is the thing for you.

in my opinion after b.e students should doing m.tech.

so if you want you as a good company post opt for m.tech it will be the best option in a core field

You must do MS because in this more scope for you in foreign country......

as far as i concern,u should persue m.tech rather than ms because there is no much scope in ms line.......so be prepare for m.tech

I suggest you for M.tech because this is better than MS for you...............and there is very good scope after completing M.tech, it improve your knowledge of computer science...........

Hi. . .you are in great confusion ..i am suggesting you personally you must go for m tech.because it will enhance your job chances.first of all , if you are intersted in teaching profession..you can opt it..you can be lecturer or professor in an engineering college.the other option is industrial sector, you can do your great in technical line.after doing m tech you will be equivalent to an engineer with master degree.i think it is very much beneficial for you.please act upon my advice.seriously you will get good result. .good luck. .

being a computer engineer my suggesstion is to carry over MS .. ms has more value than mtech .. but the expenses are very high for doing ms

Mtech is better..... In India itself,v have more resources... The thing is v r not making use of it... Pursue ur Mtech... There ll be bright future ahead

mtech consists of only a year of study and another year of project......better pursue MS from a good place where you can complete your course in just 14-15 months instead of giving 2 years.

It purely depends on a person's interest and his talent,
M.Tech is a kind of regular course where you sit in a classroom and listen to the lectures. You get one project to do which you should do under the guidance of a professor, simultaneously with these classes.

M.S is completely different as you get to interact with the professor more and there will be less of classroom classes. More time for the research activities thus can do your project better.

M.S is always preferred over M.Tech

it depends .if you are interested in going abroad and pursue master degree there then MS is preferable.this is done through GRE and TOEFL exam. if you are from good colleges like IITs Then go for MS i foreign.
and if you are not from good college and want to study in india then opt for M.Tech.

also in this case subjects is totally familiar to you so it will be better,

Here are some basics facts about M.Tech and M.S,look over the matters discussed in the subsequent section of advantage and disadvantage of both the the courses.

Advantages of M.Tech:

It is a guaranteed 2-years program. It is very difficult to delay your M.Tech. Some of the courses (subjects) are industry oriented. So, if you are looking to work in software industry, it might help. You have freedom to choose some percentage of courses.

Disadvantages of M.Tech

M.Tech is just a high-level B.Tech, where you take more advanced courses, do tougher assignments, do a better one-year project. Most often, such projects are not research-oriented. Therefore, the probability of getting a good offer for Ph.D admission after the M.Tech course is very less. If you are exceptionally good, and plan accordingly from the beginning of your M.Tech, this probability can be reduced considerably.

Advantages of M.S:

You will be doing research. You will know what is research. You will know, whether you will like research or not.

You will learn to read and follow research papers; you will learn to read papers in different ways.

You can opt for a job or a PhD after the M.S. It is difficult to complete your M.S without publications; these publications will help you value your research potentials, and later, to get a good PhD admission offer.

You can most often choose which all courses you want to credit (or attend).

Disadvantages of M.S:

M.S course can take anywhere from 2 to 4 years. It depends a lot on your interactions with your guide. If you handle situations well, you might turn this to an opportunity, and learn to be calm and tough, mentally. But, it is not easy!

Think over the matter and analyze the things for your better understanding.

what if some body does mS in USA and then returned to India. because student visa will be over. Genmerally students prolong MS to remain in states because
doing MS earlier may lead them to return back to India. In the present circumstances particularly potential of Indian industry in country and reducing job opportunities in foreign countries, which course will be better M.Tech or MS.

in my opinion, instead of doing ms, you must go for mtech. Because after be, mtech will help you a lot. Mtech is having a great scope for jobs. If you do mtech from a good college, then there are chances of campus placements also.

and b.tech courses and m.tech courses are similar with some concepts and subjects.
so i think m.tech is best to you.because already you are study b.tech with some subjects which are in m.tech

you see M.S & Mtech are equivalent degree.

the main difference is that most of the foreign university provides M.S after btech.

where as in indian university povides Mtech degee after Btech degee.

so the altimate result for both the degree are nearly equal.

so it you can choose one of them.

In India, there is no good infrastructure for MS, so if you wish to do MS, then you have to go to the foreign universities.

M.Tech on the other hand is considered best if done in India and this is accepted the world over.

If funds is not a problem, you can go for MS, else M.Tech is equally good.

Decision is ultimately yours.

so many friends mentioned earlier that there are no such scope for MS.
It is absolutely right, it is better for you to take admission in abroad through exams GRE,TOEFL etc.
But if you don't want to go abroad, thrn M.Tech is better option for you, because so many colleges like IITs, NITs, IISC & other colleges are in India, which is good for M.Tech.
& you have to appear in GATE exam, after getting valid score in this exam you can get admission in M.Tech.

Actually it is fully depend upon your choice.

but according to me you should not be deflected from your path,means i am saying then you should go for M.Tech,as you are a student of B.Tech.

through this subjects you can enhance your knowledge & experience

see, if you want to do MS then it will be better for you to go abroad.. because in India there is no such good institute for doing MS..

if you don't want to go Abroad, then Mtech will be better for you..

after completion of your Btech , you have to appear in GATE for Mtech..

if you do well in GATE then you can get admission in a good college , so after completion of your Mtech , you can also get a good job..

both the degrees are equivalent to each other.M.S. is done from abroad so you if you want to go you can opt for it and if you want to study in India then you have to do m.tech and for that you have to appear in all India entrance exam GATE and get a score to get admission is good institute.

examination of the gate,

and after the qualifying the gate exam ,

you can take admission in m.tech course.

and for the MS there is many college which is very good for that,

so no needs to go aboard.

MS in good university abroad is preferable,M.Tech in IITs is also a very good way to do your post graduation.

For securing job it is not safe to go abroad because of the latest orders Govt., introducing.

your stream is very good.MS is far better than M.Tech because it is research oriented programme.In india few IITs are starting MS from this year.problem is that there is not a good infrastructure.MS is studied in M.tech infrastructure.if you wish to do it from USA then go for M.S if not then do M.Tech.

M.Tech or MS depends on the branch you want to do as specialisation.

Doing MS not just enough, you also should admission into good university abroad.

M.Tech at IITs are good enough for CSE branch as they are rated in the top 100.

I think to opt MS will be much beneficial for you since there is more exposure in the field of computer science. otherwise if you go for M.Tech. then it is also a good choice for you you can opt any of them it'll be beneficial for you.

Why not, mtech is very good option specially if you are research oriented, so apply for GATE to do mtech through IITs.

My choice is ms. Mtech and btech are same type. You do ms in foreign countries.

Both are good. But you do ms because it has more scope in future.

Dear you should go for M.tech,
Because M.tech is the master degree of B.tech/B.E,
after B.E, to do M>tech is a higher scope, after doing this you can get a high salary package, so go for M.tech
