For I.A.S you have to qualify the civil services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

IMPORTANT DATE FOR CIVIL SERVICES EXAM., 2013
Date Of Notification:-02.02.2013
Last date of submission of form:-04.03.2013 (MONDAY)
Date of exam Prelims:-19.05.2013 (SUNDAY)
Date of Mains exam:- 19.05.2013 (SUNDAY)

To apply for the IAS exams you have to appear in the UPSC Civil services Exams.


The last date to apply for the UPSC Civil services Exams 2013 is already over.
So, Now you can only apply for the 2014 UPSC civil services Exams.


Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is:

Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university
No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation

Age- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
OBC can apply till 33 years
SC/ST can apply till 35 years

Attempts/Chances: UPSC has also fixed number of attempts
General- 4 times
OBC-7 times

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam.

The candidates must have graduation degree from the recognized university are applicable for IAS Exam . Final year student who appeared in last year exam can also apply for UPSC prelims exam.

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

Number of Attempts:
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.
If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

Sorry to say, but last date of Online Applications for IAS (Civil Services Exam) is over now.

However, you can apply next year for the Civil Services Exam.

Just after few days, Civil Services Exam 2013 will be commenced i.e. on 26 May 2013.

Important Dates of Civil Services Exam 2013 are:
