The minimum required qualification to become lecturer is that candidate must have passed master degree and qualify in NET/SET.

As per UGC candidates with Ph.D qualification are exempted from the above qualification and are eligible for recruitment as Assistant Professor.

So, candidates with any one of the above qualification are eligible for the recruitment.

To be become an Assistant Professor (lecturer) of any recognised university, you are required to qualify entrance examinations such as NET/SET/SLET.

Further, the minimum education required to appearing in these examinations is a master's degree ( in your interested paper for teaching) with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. Marks relaxation upto 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category.

For details regarding NET, you can refer to the link www.ntanet.nic.in while for details regarding different different SETs, you can refer to their concerned examining body official website..
