What is the minimum educational qualification required for the post of Assistant Professor in universities?

Hi, I have completed M.Tech in Electronics and Communication. Is this course enough for the post of Assistant Professor in Computer Science in any UGC recognized universities and their affiliated colleges?

NET refers to National Eligibility Test and it is held twice every year by NTA (National Testing Agency) for the recruitment of Assistant Professor and JRFs across various recognised university.

Further, the minimum education required to appearing in these examinations is a master's degree ( in your interested paper for teaching) with at least 55% marks from a recognised university. Marks relaxation upto 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category.

So, being a M.Tech. in Electronics and Communication, you are eligible to become Assistant Professor across universities if you have managed to secure minimum specified marks in your Master's degree course.

For more details regarding the same examination, you can visit its official link www.ntanet.nic.in.

To become Assistant professor, you have to appear and qualify in NET.

The required minimum educational qualification is that candidate must have passed from a recognised university with minimum 55% aggregate.

There is no age limit to appear in the examination.

So, M.Tech is enough to appear and qualify in NET examination.
