For recruitment as an assistant professor in government or government aided colleges you have to appear and qualify in NET examination.
The examination is conducted by CBSE under the guidance of UGC. The required eligibility criteria to appear in examination is that candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university with minimum 55%. There is no upper age limit to appear in examination. So, if you want to get it you have to purse master course. |

Re: What is the eligibility criteria required to become an Assistant Professor in Government or Government aided colleges?
[First thing I would like to let you know that for becoming an assistant professor in engineering college you need to qualify NET/SET ( National Eligibility Test/State Eligibility Test ).
Further for appearing in NET/SET you need to have completed your Master's degree in a subject which you prefer to teach with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category. So being a B.Tech degree holder you first need to complete your M.Tech degree course with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and then need to qualify NET/SET for becoming an assistant professor. For details regarding NET you can visit the website www.cbsenet.nic.in and for different SETs you can refer to their concerned official links. |
