UPSC comprises of three sections Preliminary Examination which covers objective type questions, Mains which is subjective type questions and personal interview questions. For eligibility part, aspirant’s age limit should be between 19 to 40 years. Relaxation is also given for SC/ST candidates of 2 years as per the government norms. Also candidate should be Indian and must possess a graduation degree in Mathematics, statistics, Geology, natural science, civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, economics, Chemical Engineering.

To give this exam one has to attain their bachelors degree from recognized University and candidate must not be less than 21 years and must not be more than 30 years for general category candidates.There is age relaxation for reserved category candidates as 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for PWD Category. The exam pattern is Prelims, Mains, followed by Personal Interview, and you should also pass medical test. |

IPS stands for the Indian Police Services. IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.
The entrance exam for both of these services is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and it is known as Civil Services Exam. It is the toughest exam of India. Eligibility criteria: Those who have completed their bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or in final year of graduation. Age limit is as below: General candidates: 21-30 years. OBC and SC/ST candidates have upper age relaxation of three and five years respectively. There are four attempts for general candidates. Seven attempts for the OBC and no limits for the SC/ST candidates. There are three stages in this entrance exam: 1. Preliminary exam. 2. Mains exam. 3. Personal Interview. Hi,
IAS and IPS both are conducted by UPSC and have almost same qualification. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: --> Complete graduation from any recognized University. AEG QUALIFICATION: --> Minimum Age 21 years. --> Maximum Age 30 years(for General)/33 for OBC and 35 for SC/ST. NATIONALITY: --> Indian. MAXIMUM ATTEMPTS: 3 times for genral 5 times for OBC.but no limit for SC/ST. PHYSICAL FITNESS: --> In IPS for male candidates minimum 165 cm height and 150 cm height for female candidate. |

IPS means Indian Police Services and IAS means Indian Administrative Services. Both comes under civil services of Indian government.
The highest qualification needed to appear for the Civil Services is bachelor's degree from a recognized university in any discipline with just passing percentage of marks. Final year candidates can also apply for the exam. Age criteria: General candidates: 21-30 years. OBC candidates: 21-33 years. SC/ST candidates: 21-35 years.
