In order to apply for Intelligence officer, the best option is to apply for civil services and from there on get promoted as a IB officer.

In order to become a intelligence officer or a IB officer, it is important to have worked in a police service either at state level or at national level. Police services are the best way to enter in to intelligence services by getting promotion. Apart from these there no direct option to become a intelligence officer.

The best option is to apply for civil services and get selected as IPS officer, it is a high ranking police officer job and then get promoted from here to various security agencies of India like Intelligence Bereau(IB) or RAW (Research And Analysis Wing) from here.
