Deputy Central Intelligence Officer (DCIO) – How to become a Deputy Central Intelligence Officer?
Deputy Central Intelligence Officer is considered as a reputed official in Intelligence Bureau under Ministry of Home Affairs. These officials are mainly concerned with the operation and maintenance of cyber security and cyber forensics equipment. It is their duty to supervise and maintain the communication network. They are responsible for supervising the research and development work related to electronics and telecommunication. They also have to look into the operations of audio, video and CCTV equipment. Thus the Deputy Central Intelligence Officer is behind the effective functioning of communication network and equipment.
Qualifying Exam
Candidates who have an Engineering or Master of Science degree can become a Deputy Central Intelligence Officer in Intelligence Bureau. Such candidates should first of all qualify the written test held by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). After qualifying this test, one should appear for the personal interview which is held by the concerned authority. They will be selected for the post once they successfully clear the interview.
Who are eligible to apply?
Candidates who possess any of the degrees given below from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the post of Deputy Central Intelligence Officer.
B.E or B.Tech degree in Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology
- Master’s degree in Computer Applications
- M.Sc degree in Space Engineering and Rocketry /Bio-Technology/Chemistry
- M.Sc degree in Physics with Wireless/Electronics/Optics /Nuclear Physics as one of the subject
The maximum age specified for the candidates to apply for this post is thirty five years. Even so, age relaxation is allowed according to the rules of the government.
