What are types of processes to extract zinc metal from Ore?.

Ores are that mineral from which a metal can be extracted economically and profitably.

The most important ores of Zinc are as here under :-

i) Zinc Blende or Sphaterite or Zinc Sulphide ( ZnS ).

ii) Zincite or Zinc Oxide ( ZnO ).

iii) Calamine or Zinc Carbonate ( ZnCO3 ).

The method preferred for extraction pure zinc from its ores are as :-

Step I ) By roasting and then reduction using carbon.

Step II) The impure metal is purified by fractional distillation method.
