Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
recycled concrete is nothing but utilized 'rubbles'
USES:-1)Smaller pieces of concrete are used as gravel for new construction projects. 2)Crushed recycled concrete can also be used as the dry aggregate for brand new concretes if it is free of contaminants. 3)Larger pieces of crushed concrete, can be used for erosion controls etc. |

Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
the soil can be improved by using fly ash, lime and sodium carbonate in different proportions with the soil, the new soil is more compact and has greater dry density than ordinary soil...........

Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
yes the permeability gets decreased after the treatment of the soil with fly ash,the soil is more resistance to water seepage after the treatment......................

Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
concrete recycling is an increasingly common method of utilizing the rubble, Crushing at the actual construction site using portable crushers reduces construction costs and the pollution generated when compared with transporting material to and from a quarry....
Uses of recycled concrete Smaller pieces of concrete are used as gravel for new construction projects. Sub-base gravel is laid down as the lowest layer in a road, with fresh concrete or asphalt poured over it. Crushed recycled concrete can also be used as the dry aggregate for brand new concrete if it is free of contaminants. Larger pieces of crushed concrete, such as riprap, can be used for erosion control. With proper quality control at the crushing facility, well graded and aesthetically pleasing materials can be provided as a substitute for landscaping stone or mulch. |

Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
The use of recycled concrete aggregate is typically restricted to commercial projects.Unprocessed concrete aggregate is likely to contain metal, glass and other contaminants; therefore, it is only safe to use in limited applications.

Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
I manage a landfill and we just recently had all of our concrete crushed. I was under the assumption that I would be able to build road beds with the crushed material. I thought the finished product would be similiar to crush & run. The concrete was mixed with a lot of mud & dirt prior to crushing. Seems the finished product is not much good for anything. Any thoughts on what this material can be used for other than cover for the landfill? If so please e-mail me at [email protected]. Thanks

recycling of concrete is very important to save our natural resources, actually mostly its not the cement in the concrete that's of great importance but the aggregates in it are of great use and importance there are many application for the recycled concrete, some of them are 1.noise barriers and embankments 2.bank protection 3.foundations for road construction 4.construction of road curbs |

Re: What is recycled concrete and what are its uses?
Frequently, people will accidentally put non recyclables in the recycling bin such as scrap wood, dirty cardboard/paper (Including pizza boxes), chip bags, etc.
For bagged waste, some recycling companies don’t even bother opening bags to check what is inside, they just throw them in the garbage nomatter what is inside. However, some recycling companies open up waste bags in the recycling to see what is inside, if it contains a lot of non-recyclables the whole bag is usually sent to garbage; or if it contains all or mostly recyclables, the contents will be moved to the next stage of sorting. The plastic bag is either thrown away or recycled. But let’s say you threw a dirty pizza box in the recycling. If it passed sorting, it will mess up the recycling process and the vat full of paper may have to be discarded; wasting all the paper. But if it was detected in sorting, it will be automatically moved to garbage. Heavy metals are not supposed to be thrown in municipal recycling; however if it ended up in the recycling, it will be moved to the correct recycling for scrap metals. Avoid accidentally getting plastic bags or fabric in the recycling, as those materials may tangle the machinery; causing more maintenance required for the recycling machinery. |
