Improvement of concrete durability by complex mineral super-fine powder

Durability of concrete can be increased by mixing many materials available in the market. They are costly and capable of causing environmental pollution. To reduce environment pollution, industrial wastes can be mixed to make these materials. KG powder is such a mixture made of calcined coal gangue and slag taken in a specified proportion. When we mix this powder with concrete, it will increase the durability of concrete with improved pozzolanic reaction and micro-aggregate filling. Concrete mixed with this powder will withstand sulfate attack and acid rain.

Earthquake vibration control using modified frame-shear wall

Lateral forces of earth quake in addition to the weight of the building and occupants will cause powerful twisting forces. This force will cause shear in the buildings. To withstand this force, it is better to place a rigid wall inside a frame and make it a reinforced frame. These walls are called shear-walls which can be used in high-rise buildings to protect it from seismic forces. Shear wall are constructed vertically so that they can resist the horizontal forces. A shear wall building can be occupied by 100 to 500 inhabitants.

Intelligent Transportation System

In earlier days transportation system only focused on meeting the demands of faster mobility and extended the network facilities to meet increasing traffic needs. But today there are so many challenges encountered by the transportation system. Some of those challenges are limitation in available space, increasing vehicle population and traffic congestion. So a transportation system designed today should meet all these challenges. An intelligent transportation system will make use of latest communication technologies to collect real traffic data. These data will be processed at central facility and can be used for various purposes like traveler information, incident detection and response.
