i am persuing my BE degree in IT..people say i have choosen d wrng branch..i should have opted 4 mech or civil..but i luv my branch..so..plzz tell me what should i do next..shud i do mtech in IT or something else...plzzz suggest me..

If you have interest in IT then it is the perfect branch for you. so do not worry no branch is wrong or right.It depends on the students, how he/she takes it. If you really have interest in IT then appear for Gate or GRE if you want to do PG courses. And as you said you love your branch then this is the best branch for you. Do your best and give your 100% to it. and dont listen to people. Rather listen to your heart.

What is the scope in B.E IT? After this should I go for M.Tech?

B.E/B.Sc/B.Tech (IT) is almost similar as all these courses contains the same syllabus .For your kind information ,i want to inform you that all these branches are fully related to computers so there is very less chance of getting job in public sector but there is no need to worry because you will find plenty of jobs in private sector. Only you need is to have some programming knowledge so just try to make command on programming languages .

But the most important thing should be your interest .If you are interested in this branch then it is clear that you had choosen the best branch for yourself.
First of all try to complete your B.E with good marks and then try to find job.If
in case you fails to get any job ,then you should go for M.Tech .

Today Higher degree is important so you can go for M.Tech .try to join M.Tech through best m.tech entrance exam that is GATE. You will also get some monthly money during persuing M.Tech if you can qualify GATE.


Just don't loose your confidence and believe in yourself ,you will definitely reach to your goal.

My friend , first of all I want to say, that don't listen others, do whatever you want... As you have interest in IT field then you there is nothing wrong..
It is true that lots of ups and downs are there in IT market, but,once you get a job in a IT company, then the ups and downs will not affect your career..
But to stay in a company you have to show consistent performance...
So, don't think about those problems..
First of all you just go for a job..
If you get a job then continue it..
Otherwise , you can go for Higher study..
After completion of higher studies you will get a better designation and better salary package..

IT is sometime not consider as the safest branch but if you see today's scenario that It would be clear that it is completely attached to economy of a country. Now a days, Evergreen branch synonyms is information technology or computer science because there is a lot of opportunity present in this field not in term of job but also in term of research.

Dear don't worry at all, Market is at safest position now. Nothing will happen to IT engineers. India approximately need 5 lakhs IT engineers per year. so,you will easily get a better job for yourself.

Dear friend,

After completion of your B-TECH(IT) , you are eligible for off-campus and govt sector.Final year studenta are eligible for those post.

If your academic marks is above 60% then you applicable for below organization.

After B.Tech , you have lots of scope in govt sector like BSNL , MTNL , DRDO , SAIL , BHEL ,State Electricity Board , GAIL , BARC,ISRO,ONGC,NTPC etc.

Also you are eligible for off-campus of TCS ,CTS ,IBM ,WIPRO ,HP,ACCENTUTE ,INFOSYS etc.

If you have to go for higher study . Then the options are JRF , SRF , MS ,MBA ,M-TECH ,PHD etc.

But you must be qualify in GATE or MAT or CAT exam .

After B.E IT you can have job as well can go for higher study,now it's up to you what to do,but none of the choice would be bad, if you want to earn now then go for job otherwise go for higher study.

If you have interest in IT branch then nothing to worry about your

future.There is so much scope for a IT engineer in IT sector.There are so

much jobs are present in india for an IT engineer.If you have interest to

choose it branch then its very good for you.You can learn many languages

and other software courses doing engineering.You have to choose a perticular

field like programming,networking,database etc.Its help you for your future.

You have very good time to choose any one and have command on that

perticular field.

If you want to do your higher studies then mtech is a very good option.There

is so much scope after master degree.

IT is the core of Computers.

You have taken one of the best courses available in the market. So you dont have to feel any bad about it.

Yeah the competition in IT is higher that those in Mechanical and Civil, thats because IT is considered a simpler courses that these.

Anyways, in my opinion, you should definitely go for your M.Tech.
Doing your Master's degree would certainly add more value to your IT B.Tech and would increase your competency in terms of knowledge and experience.

After your M.Tech you can easily apply for a good job in any one of the MNC's.
